Blue Lagoon

Located a short distance from the fishing port of Grindavík on the Reykjanes peninsula in the southwest, the Blue Lagoon is today one of Iceland's most popular tourist attractions.

Created by water from the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power plant, its warm, mineral- rich waters are said to be effective in the treatment of psoriasis and a variety of other skin complaints and are certainly a great place for a swim and bathing. Restaurant and hotel at the site.
